Amy Watson

MA (Politics and International Relations), PGCE

Early Years Teacher – English (Coronation Circle)

Ms. Amy Watson will be your child’s English class teacher and is delighted to be teaching at Malvern College Pre-School for her second year.

Ms. Amy qualified with a PGCE in Early Years from the University of Sunderland. She has worked as an educator in Hong Kong for six years. She has held the position of Head of English at an international preschool and has specialised in the Early Years Foundation Stage.

She is trained in the MindUP™ curriculum, which is a research-based programme that helps children to improve their self-regulation skills, build resilience to stress, and develop a positive mind set. Her classroom is a safe space for children to express themselves in a healthy and positive way.

Ms. Amy is passionate about ensuring that all children have access to the best quality of education and nurturing a child’s creativity, individuality and love of learning.

She looks forward to meeting you all and working together to build the happiest and most confident early learners!

Jessica Daswani

BSc (Computer Science and Management), PGCE

Early Years Teacher – English (Coronation Circle)

Ms. Jessica is delighted that you have chosen the Malvern College Pre-School family and that you can grow and learn together.

Over the past four years, Ms. Jessica has gained extensive knowledge in educating and nurturing young children in an international school setting.

She completed her PGCE in Early Years Teaching at the University of Sunderland, UK and has a passion for helping children to reach their potential and encourage them to be inquisitive explorers.

She is excited to welcome both returning and new families to Malvern College Pre-School Hong Kong and look forward to meeting your family soon.

Libby Williams

LL.B, PGCE

Early Years Teacher – English (Coronation Circle)

Ms. Libby will be your child’s English Teacher and is in her second year of teaching at Malvern College Pre-School.

Ms. Libby was born and raised in Manchester, UK, and initially studied Law in Sheffield and Paris at university. She worked in a few different industries before beginning a career in English as a Foreign Language, teaching students of various ages in Europe. She found her passion for Early Childhood Education over five years ago.

She completed her Postgraduate Certificate in Early Years Teaching through the University of Sunderland whilst working at an international kindergarten in Hong Kong. She has mainly worked within Reggio Emilia inspired learning environments and loves the approach’s focus on the child and collaboration.

Ms. Libby is excited to embark on new learning journeys with our pupils and see what discoveries they can make in the next academic year. She looks forward to meeting your family soon and starting this adventure with you.

Lily Channell

BA BMgt (Hons), PGCE

Early Years Teacher – English (Coronation Circle)

Ms. Lily is delighted to be joining the team at Malvern College Pre-School.

Ms. Lily has six years of teaching experience in international kindergartens and schools in the UK, Thailand and Hong Kong (most recently at Harrow International School, Hong Kong).

Ms. Lily originally graduated from university with a BA in Business and Management and later decided to study a PGCE in Early Years Teaching, and then went on to gain full UK QTS status via the assessment only route. She has undertaken various Continuous Professional Development including Little Wandle phonics, a Trinity College London certification in teaching various English courses and a multitude of in-house training in early years pedagogies, classroom management and math/literacy training.

Ms. Lily finds teaching in the Early Years extremely fulfilling, rewarding and fascinating. She loves to continually learn about and develop her knowledge in Early Years practice by listening to podcasts and reading about the latest research. Ms. Lily is looking forward to further developing her pedagogical knowledge through future study/training. She is also very interested in child development, play therapy, educational psychology and wellbeing, and incorporates her learning and research in these areas and her practice. Ms. Lily is very much looking forward to meeting the cohort for September 2023 and welcoming existing/new children and their families, too!

Sharon Maloney

MA (Teaching English), BSc(HTMT)(Hons), PGCE

Early Years Teacher – English (Coronation Circle)

Ms. Sharon Maloney will be your child’s English-speaking teacher.

She was born and raised in the international school system in Hong Kong and attended university in the United Kingdom. Ms. Sharon began teaching language to primary school children in Hong Kong before moving to the United Kingdom to teach. After almost a decade, she felt homesick and returned to Hong Kong to focus on her passion of teaching in the Early Years.

Most recently, she has been an English teacher trainer for Asia, a course lecturer for the Early Childhood Education course at the Education University, a head teacher at a small international kindergarten in Hong Kong, and classroom teacher; entering her fifth year at MCPS.

She looks forward to welcoming all her new pupils to Malvern College Pre-School next year!

Linda Zhou

MA (Linguistics), BA (Arabic Language and Literature)

Early Years Teacher – Mandarin (Coronation Circle)

Hello! This is Ms. Linda Zhou (Zhou Laoshi). Welcome to Malvern College Pre-school. She will be your child’s Mandarin-speaking class teacher this year.

Zhou Laoshi graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Master’s Degree in Linguistics, specialising in Language Acquisition and Bilingualism. She obtained her PGDE from The University of Hong Kong, majoring in Early Childhood Education.

Zhou Laoshi has been working with young children with different language backgrounds for over ten years in Hong Kong. She is a passionate and caring facilitator and values children’s imagination and creativity, believing that every child is unique.

Zhou Laoshi wishes to bring the best out of your child and will support their learning and development with all her efforts.

Zhou Laoshi can’t wait to meet you and your child in her class. Let’s start a new journey and explore wonder and learning together in Malvern College Pre-school!

Mary Hu

M.Ed, PGDECE

Early Years Teacher – Mandarin (Coronation Circle)

Ms. Mary Hu (Hu Laoshi) is delighted that you have chosen the Malvern College Pre-School family and that you will learn and have fun together.

Ms. Mary Hu (Hu Laoshi) has been working in international schools for 7 years. She completed her Master of Education at The Education University of Hong Kong and her Postgraduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education at Hong Kong Baptist University.

Ms. Mary Hu (Hu Laoshi) enjoys teaching and working with children of different ages. She is excited to welcome returning and new families to Malvern College Pre-School Hong Kong and looks forward to meeting your family soon.

Shirley Siu

Dip (ECE)

Early Years Teacher – Mandarin (Coronation Circle)

Ms. Shirley Siu, (Siu Laoshi) will be your child’s Mandarin-speaking class teacher this year. 

Siu Laoshi would like to welcome you and your family to Malvern College Pre-School, and she knows that you will be very happy, being a member of this community. Siu Laoshi is very excited to be one of your child’s teachers this academic year!

Before coming to Hong Kong, she taught in primary schools in mainland China. Once residing here, she started teaching kindergarten, preschool and playgroup and discovered her own passion for early education. Ms. Siu has taught in traditional schools and international schools. This year is her seventh year at Malvern College Pre-School.

Her lessons are pupil focused and age appropriate. Inspiring young children’s creativity and curiosity is very rewarding, as they learn through relevant activities and games. It is wonderful to see pupils’ confidence and motivation grow through their participation and interactions with their peers.

She is looking forward to the new academic year at Malvern College Pre-School and working in partnership with your family.

Suki Lam

B.Ed (Hons) in Early Childhood Education, HD(ECE)

Early Years Teacher – Mandarin (Coronation Circle)

Ms. Suki Lam (Lam Laoshi) will join the Mandarin teaching team this year. She is looking forward to meeting you all.

Ms. Suki Lam (Lam Laoshi), graduated with a Bachelor of Education with Honours in Early Childhood Education and has received a certificate of Proficiency in Putonghua from The Education University of Hong Kong. She has over 4 years experience of teaching Early Year classes for both Chinese and Non-Chinese speaking children.

She believes every child is unique and special, and she will care for the diverse learning needs of each child. She is a teacher who not only facilitates children’s learning but also their pastoral well-being, accompanying them to create all those happy memories during their childhood.

Ms. Suki Lam (Lam Laoshi) is excited to get to know more about you and your child!

Tina Chan

BEd (ECE), HD (Child Care and Education)

Early Years Teacher – Mandarin (Coronation Circle)

Ms. Tina Chen (Chen Laoshi) will be your child’s Mandarin teacher at Malvern College Pre-School in Hong Kong. She is very happy to be part of the Malvern College Pre-School’s family. Next year she enters her seventh year with Malvern College Pre-school.

Her work experience includes working in early childhood education in China and Hong Kong for more than fifteen years. She holds a Higher Diploma and Bachelor of Education, both in Early Childhood Studies. She has been a Mandarin teacher in international schools and has taught children from one and a half to six years of age. Additionally, she is a certified Putonghua Trainer.

She relishes the Malvern College Pre-School philosophy of teaching with its diverse learning environment and explorations in nature. She knows that our Malvern Pre-School children will be happy learners and grow to be healthy and fulfilled.

She is looking forward to meeting everyone and becoming a partner in the education, caring for all of our Malvern College Pre-School pupils.

Alice Leung

Early Years Teachers Assistant (Coronation Circle)

Ms. Alice Leung is delighted that you have chosen the Malvern College Pre-School family and is looking forward to growing and learning together with your child.

Ms. Alice has experienced different international and local kindergarten settings during her studies and has worked as a summer course art teacher. She is a trilingual speaker and can speak Cantonese, English, and Putonghua fluently.

Ms. Alice completed her higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education at Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education and qualified as a kindergarten teacher, childcare worker, childcare supervisor, and special childcare worker.

She is a patient person, who pays attention to details and is a good team player. She is also very creative. Ms. Alice loves being ‘in the moment’ with pupils and working with teachers to support their learning. She believes every child is unique, and each has their individual strengths. “Learning through play” is paramount for children to explore the world based on their interests. Children learn best through having realistic hands-on experiences and she is excited to facilitate these with your child.

Alice Leung

Ching Yee Wong

Ms. Ching is truly delighted to be a part of the esteemed Malvern College Pre-School Hong Kong.

With 9 years of experience in both local and international kindergartens, Ms. Ching has worked closely with children of varying ages and has come to appreciate the uniqueness of each individual.

She holds a Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education from The Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education and is passionate about teaching and nurturing young minds.

Ms. Ching is eagerly looking forward to welcoming both returning and new families to Malvern College Pre-School Hong Kong, and she cannot wait to meet and get to know your family soon.

Cynthia Yuen

Ms. Cynthia Yuen is delighted that you have chosen the Malvern College Pre-School family. We will grow and learn together.

She has experienced different local and international kindergartens. During my career, she has 15 years of experience in local childcare and 9 years of experience in a Montessori International School.

She completed her Certificate in Pre-School Education and she is a qualified teacher. She was granted the Qualified Kindergarten Teacher (QKT) and the Child Care Worker (CCW) certificates.

She is keen to work with children of different ages and am excited to welcome returning and new families to Malvern College Pre-School Hong Kong. She is looking forward to meeting your family soon.

Erica Li

BED (ECE) (Hons), HD (ECE)

Ms. Erica Li. is excited to meet you at the Malvern College Pre-School Hong Kong and is looking forward to enjoying many great times at school together.

She is a registered teacher, childcare worker, childcare supervisor, and special childcare worker. Ms. Erica has teaching experience in different kindergarten settings. She also has experience working in a private English Playgroup during her four years of study.

Ms. Erica completed her Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education at The Education University of Hong Kong and graduated from Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education with a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood with a class Honours.

She is keen to work with young pupils of different ages and excited to welcome returning and new families to Malvern College Pre-School Hong Kong. She is looking forward to meeting your family soon!

Joyce Fong

Ms. Joyce is delighted that you have chosen the Malvern College Pre-School family. It is her honour to have this opportunity of growing and learning together with your child. She is looking forward to meeting your family at school.

She has completed her Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education at The Education of Hong Kong (EdUHK) with the qualifications of a kindergarten teacher, childcare worker, childcare supervisor, and special childcare worker. She has experience in teaching and working with different ages of children during my early childhood education studies at The Education University of Hong Kong. Furthermore, she is now studying for a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education at the same university.

She is a self-motivated and passionate person. She enjoys the time accompanying young children to reach common goals and their full potential.

Lisa Poon

Ms. Lisa Poon is delighted that you have chosen the Malvern College Pre-School family and that you will grow and learn together.

She has experienced different local and international kindergarten settings during her studies and has experience working in an international school as a teaching assistant. She is trilingual and can speak Cantonese, English and Putonghua fluently.

She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood at the University of the West of England, Bristol, graduating with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Early Childhood Education) from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. She loves to travel, and the United Kingdom holds a special place in her heart because of the great memories that she created during her 6.5 years of residing there. She enjoys cooking, making crafts and visiting different places in her free time.

She believes ‘learning through play’ can help children develop social and cognitive skills, allowing them to learn at their own pace. Children can reach their full potential when they are in a loving environment that stimulates their curiosity and creativity. She is keen to work with children of different ages and is excited to welcome returning and new families to Malvern College Pre-School Hong Kong. She is looking forward to meeting your family soon.

Ryan Lau

Mr. Ryan Lau is a Teaching Assistant at Malvern College Pre-School supporting in a range of classes. He is a qualified teacher, and he is so thankful that he has this great opportunity to learn and laugh with your children.

He is a trustworthy, patient, and friendly person who has a passion for working with children. He always tries to find a way to make children laugh and smile, from telling jokes to making funny voices. He is interested in language development and he is humbled to be able to support your children to enhance this area. He enjoys reading stories and he believes that it is an enjoyable way to help expand children’s vocabulary.

Mr. Ryan is a team player. He enjoys working with teachers to support pupils’ learning. He is also a strong believer in play-based learning. He thinks pupils learn by playing and exploring. They learn best by actively engaging with their environments.
