Amy Watson

MA (Politics and International Relations), PGCE

Learning Enhancement Teacher (Coronation Circle and Island West)

Following two successful years as a MCPS K2 Class Teacher, Ms. Amy Watson is excited to take on a new role this year, supporting children, parents, and teachers across both campuses and all year levels. Her focus will be on addressing the needs of individual learners, with a specific emphasis on Special Educational Needs and English as an Additional Language.

Ms. Watson has been an educator in Hong Kong for seven years, holding the position of Head of English at an international preschool and specialising in the Early Years Foundation Stage. She is trained in the MindUP™ curriculum, a research-based programme that helps children improve their self-regulation skills, build resilience to stress, and develop a positive mindset. Additionally, she has completed training in Level 3 Sensory Aware with GriffinOT, the Nuffield Early Language Intervention, and the Speech, Language and Communication Framework (SLCF).

Ms. Watson is passionate about ensuring all children have access to high-quality education and nurturing their creativity, individuality, and love of learning. Her vision is to promote inclusivity based on best practices and to empower all pupils to achieve success.

She looks forward to meeting everyone and working together to build the happiest and most confident early learners.

Jen Greig

MA (Primary Education), BA

Early Years Teacher – English (Coronation Circle)

Ms. Jen Greig holds a Master of Arts in Primary Education, with a specialism in History, from the University of Edinburgh. She is in her fifth year of teaching and has spent the past three years contributing to the development of an early years department within a new school.

Ms. Greig quickly realised her passion for early years education at the beginning of her teaching career. To ensure the children in her care foster a love of learning, she has completed courses in play pedagogy, woodwork, and integrating numeracy and literacy through drama. She eagerly anticipates watching the children grow as they explore and develop their learning together.

Jessica Daswani

BSc (Computer Science and Management), PGCE

Early Years Teacher – English (Coronation Circle)

Over the past five years, Ms. Jessica Daswani has gained extensive knowledge in educating and nurturing young children in an international school setting.

Ms. Daswani completed her PGCE in Early Years Teaching and is currently pursuing her master’s in Early Years at the University of Sunderland, UK. She has a passion for helping children reach their potential and encourages them to be inquisitive explorers.

Libby Williams

LL.B, PGCE

Early Years Teacher – English (Coronation Circle)

Ms. Libby Williams was born and raised in Manchester, UK. She initially studied Law in Sheffield and Paris at university. After working in various industries, she began her career in teaching English as a Foreign Language to students of various ages in Europe, discovering her passion for Early Childhood Education over six years ago.

Ms. Williams completed her Postgraduate Certificate in Early Years Teaching through the University of Sunderland while working at an international kindergarten in Hong Kong. She has primarily worked within Reggio Emilia-inspired learning environments, appreciating the approach’s focus on the child and collaboration.

Lily Channell

BA BMgt (Hons), PGCE

Early Years Teacher – English (Coronation Circle)

Ms. Lily Channell has six years of teaching experience in international kindergartens and schools in the UK, Thailand, and Hong Kong.

Ms. Channell graduated with a BA in Business and Management before deciding to pursue a PGCE in Early Years Teaching, gaining full UK QTS status via the assessment-only route. She has undertaken various Continuous Professional Development courses, including Little Wandle phonics, Trinity College London certification in teaching various English courses, and extensive in-house training in early years pedagogies, classroom management, and mathematics and literacy.

Teaching in the Early Years is extremely fulfilling, rewarding, and fascinating for Ms. Channell. She loves to continually develop her knowledge in Early Years practice by listening to podcasts and reading the latest research. She is keen on furthering her pedagogical knowledge through future study and training. Additionally, she has a strong interest in child development, play therapy, educational psychology, and wellbeing, incorporating her learning and research in these areas into her practice.

Sharon Maloney

MA (Teaching English), BSc(HTMT)(Hons), PGCE

Early Years Teacher – English (Coronation Circle)

Ms. Sharon Maloney was born and raised in the international school system in Hong Kong and attended university in the United Kingdom. Ms. Sharon began teaching language to primary school children in Hong Kong before moving to the United Kingdom to teach. After almost a decade, she felt homesick and returned to Hong Kong to focus on her passion of teaching in the Early Years.

Most recently, she has been an English teacher trainer for Asia, a course lecturer for the Early Childhood Education course at the Education University, a head teacher at a small international kindergarten in Hong Kong, and classroom teacher; entering her fifth year at MCPS.

Linda Zhou

MA (Linguistics), BA (Arabic Language and Literature)

Early Years Teacher – Mandarin (Coronation Circle)

Ms. Linda Zhou, (Zhou Laoshi), graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Master’s Degree in Linguistics, specialising in Language Acquisition and Bilingualism. She obtained her PGDE from The University of Hong Kong, majoring in Early Childhood Education.

With over ten years of experience working with young children from different language backgrounds in Hong Kong, Zhou Laoshi is a passionate and caring facilitator who values children’s imagination and creativity, believing that every child is unique. She is dedicated to bringing out the best in each child and will support their learning and development with all her efforts.

Mary Hu

M.Ed, PGDECE

Early Years Teacher – Mandarin (Coronation Circle)

Ms. Mary Hu (Hu Laoshi) has seven years of experience working in international schools. She holds a Master of Education from The Education University of Hong Kong and a Postgraduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education from Hong Kong Baptist University. Ms. Hu enjoys teaching and working with children of different ages.

Shirley Siu

B.Ed, Dip (ECE)

Early Years Teacher – Mandarin (Coronation Circle)

Shirley Siu, (Siu Laoshi), moved to Hong Kong 20 years ago and has been teaching Mandarin for Early Years since then. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Early Years Education from Chaohu University and a qualification in Early Childhood Care and Education Teaching (Chinese) in Hong Kong.

Ms. Siu taught primary school in Mainland China before moving to Hong Kong in 1997, where she discovered her passion for Early Years education, teaching Kindergarten, Pre-School, and Playgroups. Her teaching experience spans both Chinese traditional schools and international schools. This year marks her eighth year at Malvern College Pre-School.

Her lessons are child-focused and age-appropriate, designed to inspire young children’s creativity and curiosity through engaging activities and games. She finds it incredibly rewarding to see pupils’ confidence and motivation grow through their participation and interactions with their peers.

Suki Lam

B.Ed (Hons) in Early Childhood Education, HD(ECE)

Early Years Teacher – Mandarin (Coronation Circle)

Ms. Suki Lam, (Lam Laoshi), graduated with a Bachelor of Education with Honours in Early Childhood Education and holds a Certificate of Proficiency in Putonghua from The Education University of Hong Kong.

With over five years of experience teaching Early Years classes to both Chinese and international speaking children, Ms. Lam is dedicated to addressing the diverse learning needs of each child. She not only facilitates children’s learning but also cares for their pastoral well-being, helping them create happy childhood memories.

Tina Chan

B.Ed (ECE), HD (Child Care and Education)

Early Years Teacher – Mandarin (Coronation Circle)

Ms. Tina Chan (Chan Laoshi) is the Mandarin teacher at Malvern College Pre-School in Hong Kong, now entering her eighth year with the school. With over fifteen years of experience in early childhood education in China and Hong Kong, she holds a Higher Diploma and a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Studies. Ms. Chan has taught children aged from one and a half to six years in international schools.

She embraces the Malvern College Pre-School Hong Kong philosophy of teaching, which includes a diverse learning environment and explorations in nature. Ms. Chan is committed to ensuring that Malvern Pre-School pupils are happy learners who grow to be healthy and fulfilled.

Ching Yee Wong

Early Years Teachers Assistant (Coronation Circle)

Ms. Ching Yee Wong has 11 years of experience in both local and international kindergartens. She has worked closely with children of varying ages and appreciates the uniqueness of each individual.

She holds a Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education from The Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education and is passionate about teaching and nurturing young minds.

Chloe Leung

Early Years Teachers Assistant (Coronation Circle)

Miss Chloe Leung completed her Bachelor of Early Childhood Education at Hong Kong Baptist University. She has experience working with children of different ages during her studies in various local kindergartens. Additionally, she has worked in an international kindergarten setting for four years after graduating from university.

Miss Leung enjoys teaching and growing with children of different ages.

Emily Li

HD (ECE)

Early Years Teachers Assistant (Coronation Circle)

Ms. Emily Li has experience working with young children, mainly 4-year-olds, and has learned a lot through connecting with children and families from different cultural backgrounds and settings. She deeply loves this profession and takes great delight in helping children be happy and make progress.

Ms. Li holds a Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education from Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education. She has previously worked as a teacher of pre-nursery and kindergarten, giving her confidence in teaching young learners.

Ms. Li believes in remaining humble and open to new opportunities and experiences. She encourages children to approach challenges with enthusiasm.

Jackie Chua

B. Ed (ECE)

Early Years Teachers Assistant (Coronation Circle)

Ms. Jackie Chua has experience working with children across different age groups, from infancy to pre-schoolers, she has worked in kindergartens and day care centres.

Ms. Chua holds a Bachelor of Education (Teaching) with a specialisation in Early Childhood Education from New Zealand. It was during her studies that her passion for working with children of different ages truly flourished.

Joyce Fong

B. Ed (ECE), HD(ECE)

Early Years Teachers Assistant (Coronation Circle)

Ms. Joyce Fong has completed her Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), with qualifications as a kindergarten teacher, childcare worker, childcare supervisor, and special childcare worker. She has experience teaching and working with children of various ages during her studies at EdUHK. This is her third year at Malvern College Pre-School Hong Kong.

A self-motivated and passionate person, Ms. Fong enjoys helping young children reach common goals and their full potential.

Ryan Lau

Early Years Teachers Assistant (Coronation Circle)

Mr. Ryan Lau is a Teaching Assistant at Malvern College Pre-School Hong Kong, supporting the majority of classes. He is a qualified teacher who values the opportunity to learn and laugh with the children. Mr. Lau is a trustworthy, patient, and friendly individual with a passion for working with children.

He enjoys making children laugh and smile through jokes and funny voices and believes reading stories is an effective way to help expand children’s vocabulary. A team player, Mr. Lau collaborates well with teachers to support pupils’ learning and is a strong advocate for play-based learning, believing that pupils learn best by playing, exploring, and actively engaging with their environments.

Valerie Wang

Early Years Teachers Assistant (Coronation Circle)

Miss Valerie Wang completed her Higher Diploma at Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education and her Bachelor of Science in Applied Child Development at The University of Hong Kong.

Throughout her studies, Miss Wang gained valuable teaching experience in local and international kindergartens. Her academic foundation, combined with hands-on experience, has given her a deep understanding of the unique developmental needs of preschool-aged children.

Miss Wang believes that children learn best through play and inquiry-based approaches. She aims to spark children’s curiosity and support their passion for learning based on their interests.
