Extra Curricular Activities of 2024 at Malvern College Pre-School Hong Kong

We are delighted to announce that our Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) programme will be continuing into Term Three, starting from 8th April, 2024. Hosted at our pre-school premises at Coronation Circle and Island West campus, we provide a secure, air-conditioned, and hygienic environment for all our activities.

We value holistic education and partner with leading service providers to offer high-quality extracurricular activities, taught by experienced instructors. Our Enrichment Classes help children discover new passions, develop skills, and make friends in a fun, engaging environment.

We look forward to your child thriving in our programme!

Dance

  • Little Movers classes focus on developing and preparing children for the future
  • Emphasis on building blocks of all movement and arming pupils with control and understanding of the body
  • Include stretching, building coordination, using fun props, introducing dance choreography, and playing games
  • Dancing helps children learn patience, sharing, caring, and making friends

    Provider: Move for Life Ltd

    • Declan, Joshua, and Victoria, along with their team, collaborate with schools and youth organisations to foster children’s social, emotional, and creative development through dance.
    • Combining over 50 years of dance experience, they offer diverse dance-based courses and workshops for children of all ages.
    • Their Move For Life programs, now embraced by over 20 schools, aim to encourage physical activity for all children.

Lego and Matata Lab

  • Build a carnival with LEGO's functional elements, exploring simple machine concepts.
  • Design and construct various vehicles/robots using LEGO SPIKE Essential.
  • Decorate, program, and select parade songs for their creations.
  • Plan a world trip and delve into fundamental coding concepts through interactive robot-controlling games.

    • Founded by passionate robotics and computer engineers dedicated to nurturing pupils' talents.
    • Achieved success in global robotics competitions like FIRST® Lego® League and VEX IQ.
    • Exceptional performance in competitions enhances pupils' university admissions in North America.

Science Workshop

  • Activity-based and designed workshops according to constructivist theories
  • Curriculum developers and facilitators choose appropriate topics and activities for pupils' cognitive levels
  • Materials used in learning activities are common everyday items to illustrate that Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics are all around us
  • To inspire passion for thinking and learning and instil a scientific way of observing the world to children

Taekwondo

  • A martial art and Olympic sport that focuses on kicking techniques
  • Emphasis on physical training, including strength, body coordination, balance, and speed

    Provider: Cheung Do Kwan Team

    • Founded in 1988 by Grandmaster Woo Jong Pill with a focus on strengthening the mind
    • Hong Kong's top Taekwondo school with branches in Wong Chuk Hang, Fortress Hill, Shek Tong Tsui & Discovery Bay
    • Grandmaster Woo is Director of the Hong Kong National Taekwondo Poomsae Team
    • Team consists of National Team Members who are certified Black Belts from KUKKIWON
    • Awarded Top Rank KUKKIWON Member consecutively in 2018 and 2019

Yoga and Mindfulness

  • Yoga classes offer holistic education, integrating subjects like math, science, and languages with activities involving the human body, music, creativity, animals, and the environment.
  • Children engage in breath work, stretching, movement, sharing, reflection, and introspection during yoga sessions.
  • Yoga serves as a tool to enhance the mind-body connection, fostering calmness, focus, and connection in children.

    Provider: Ms. Helen

    • Ms. Helen is a certified kindergarten teacher and registered children’s yoga instructor with over 6 years of teaching experience.
    • Passionate about empowering children with life skills, flexibility, and resilience.
    • As children’s yoga educators, we create a supportive environment where each child's unique qualities are embraced, fostering sensitivity, self-awareness, and intuition to meet their individual and collective needs positively.

    • Team utilises paintbrushes, coloured pencils, and crayons to express their lives through writing, sketching, and colouring.
    • Pages adorned with diverse clippings and paintings construct stories reflecting their identities.
    • They believe colour symbolises happiness and vitality in life.

If you are interested in the above Enrichment Classes, please fill in the following enrolment form: Kindly prepare a cheque made payable to Malvern College Pre-School Limited to the Pre-School office. Please note that registration is on a first-come-first-served basis.
