Keeping families informed and involved
Warm, open and regular communication helps families remain closely connected with their child’s learning, celebrate progress and continue meaningful experiences at home.
At Malvern College Pre-School Hong Kong, we value open and constructive communication with every family. A range of communication tools keeps parents informed about their child’s learning and offers practical ways to continue it at home. Together, these channels provide timely glimpses of classroom life alongside more structured information about each child’s progress.
Tapestry
Each pupil has a Tapestry account—an online digital learning portfolio and home-school communication platform. Families can access photographs and observations, communicate with teachers and share relevant learning from home.
Weekly class newsletter
Class teachers share photographs and information illustrating the learning focus of the week, helping families understand classroom life and start conversations at home.
Parent-teacher conferences
Conversations provide opportunities to understand and celebrate progress, exchange observations and agree meaningful next steps.
Celebrations of Learning
School-based opportunities invite families to see children’s work and celebrate their learning and development.
Progress and end-of-year reports provide a structured review of each child’s development, achievements and next steps across the Early Years programme.
Communication at MCPS is a genuine two-way exchange. Families are warmly encouraged to share observations and learning from home, creating continuity between each child’s experiences at school and within family life.
Parent takeaway
Through regular updates, thoughtful conversations and shared observations, families remain informed, involved and closely connected with their child’s learning journey.
